Ms. Shelly's News August 10

The week has flown by!  We have been very busy getting used to our new schedule. We are learning about Daily 5 rotations for our reading time. The students learned the 3 ways to read a book to ourselves and practiced stamina.  We have worked on a class book to review color words, as well as fine motor skills with cutting and gluing.  We learned all about the ROCKETS way and how we can use it in our classroom and beyond.

We are asking for $10 towards the  Scholastic Let's Find Out newspaper program we will be using in our classroom this year. Please send in a labeled envelope with your child's name marked Scholastic donation.


Week in Review:

- We reviewed routines and school procedures.

- Students were introduced to the “Rockets Way”.

- Letter “c” (Clever Cat) formation and sound
- 2-d shape poems/recognizing shapes
- Begin color sight words
